“Desaru” means “Village Of Casuarinas” or palms. The Malay word “Desa” which means village and the word “Ru” is the local name for Casuarinas. At the same time, Desaru may not be as secluded as it used to be, or as unpopulated, but there is still an unspoiled and unmistakable pristine nature about the place. Its 22 kilometers of sand offer all the amenities or solitude anyone can expect, plus the added bonus of glistening waves on one side, and unspoiled jungle on the other.
Also, the driving time has been cut short due to the highway which has been built for the convenience of guests from anywhere by using the route of Senai Desaru Highway (E22) all the way to Lotus Desaru Beach Resort and Spa.
From the outer look of the building, it seems like a fairy tale concept whereby the building looks like a Castle from the Fairy Tales storyline which the children and also the parents were enchanted with the concept. The moment the guest drives into the resort the nature of the trees will greet them and also the surrounding area where people will do their check-in at the lobby reception area and be able to see an antique fire brigade car from1930 guardian the lobby area and an avian sanctuary featuring varieties of peacocks, parrots, geese, ducks, and many other avian creatures.
It is just like the hidden jewel in this resort where the middle lane is filled with natural palm trees and when it comes to night it will be brightened up with beautiful drop light colors.

The hotel is a little outdated in terms of hotel room design but the cleanliness is great! Breakfast spread is also good enough and there is a vegetarian corner! The water splash park is the best place for the kids to enjoy! Will come again for this reasonable priced hotel with full of fun for the children!

Resort is clean and has lots of facilites and things to do. Its beach facing so the water sports and swimming was awesome!

2nd time staying in this resort, sound proof for the room is good and the room is quiet.If the resort could have some complimentary offer or discount vouchers for repeated customers, will further enhance the loyalty.

This is a good resort for big family. Many activities for the kids and a few restaurants. Avoid coming during holiday seasons like Christmas or New Year because too many people (check-in, parking, breakfast will be packed). If you are planning to eat out, the nearest coffee shop is about 15 mins drive.

One of the places that has all facilities in one area. Very affordable price, cheap ticket entrance for water splash. If you booked the room, you got a free entrance ticket. Even if you need to pay still So cheap for RM10/kid and RM21/adult for all days that you're there. My family enjoyed it so much.

The rooms and service are okay but the room I booked needs a bit of renovation back then because it seems like an old 1900's style Soo definitely needs a bit more renovation but overall rating 8.5/10

Perfect for families with young kids. With arcade, in house water activities, water park, games room, night time carnival, paint ball etc, you literally need not leave the resort.

This place very affordable for us. The room is very comfortable. Furnishing maybe old but well maintained. Enough aircond for the room and all functioning well.

Everything is good, it have private beach with seafood restaurant, splash park, room is huge and cozy and clean. The pricing is relatively cheap compare to other beach resort, the breakfast can be improved.

The resort and the rooms are very old but well maintained. However, a renovation to look more modern could be something they can look for. The resort has its own water park, so it's good for a family to spend a weekend here.

We had our church camp here in Dec 2023 and it was a great experience. Right from the start the resort was very responsive, helpful and accommodating. They were willing to accommodate to our request event at the very last minute.

The resort is pleasant for a family vacation. The swimming pool and the waterpark is good especially for those with young children. The room is very clean and comfortable.

Overall it was a pleasant trip. We had a tremendous holiday with family. The room was big and spacious. The breakfast was delicious. The entire experience was overwhelming. The food at seafood restaurant could be better but when compared to the whole experience it was nothing.

Took us 3.5hrs drive from KL. Resort is clean and has lots of facilites and things to do. Its beach facing so the water sports and swimming was nice. Live the huge bird cage. Food is very good.

The buffet is good but not fantastic. However the swimming pool and water playground is fun for the kids and it is very near the beach. So this is most important.
